We’ve just come back from a 4* all inclusive luxury holiday in Agadir, Morocco. All that delicious free food and drink has most definitely taken its toll on my body. After doing some research online, I thought it would be a good idea to give my body a bit of a detox.

After all, I always detox my hair and skin after travelling, so why not add my insides into the mix? This is by no means an attempt at losing weight, but purely in aid of cleansing my body following all the tons of rich food and alcohol we had in Morocco.

So, here on in marks the beginning of my 7 day detox following both the Body + Soul 7 day Detox Plan as well as a fruit and vegetable meal plan.

I’ve never followed a detox meal plan before, so I wanted to document the before and after effects … with all of the honesty and first hand experience I can muster!

The Before Blues

All in all, I’m fairly happy with my body. Yes, I have a few extra pounds that just won’t shift, but what I’m most bothered about is the way I feel. I often feel tired and sluggish and sometimes a little sad for no apparent reason.

I’m a firm believer in what’s going inside your body has a severe effect on what happens outside your body too. So I reckon my poor diet over the past few weeks has played havoc on not just my body but also my mind. So as part of my detox will be regular Yoga sessions as well!

I do have to say that I’m looking forward to starting my detox and finding out whether I’ll feel better, worse or the same afterwards.

So first up is some lemon and lime detox water every day. If it’s any good, I’ll post up how I made it and the benefits of why you should drink it. Bottom’s up!
