Welcome to the Wales edition of my UK Photo Essays series!
When most travellers think of Wales, they think of the rain. Isn’t that a crying shame? (Pardon the accidental rhyming couplet just then). First things first, I want to dispel a common myth once and for all: it does not always rain in Wales.
Yes, it rains a lot. There’s no point denying that. But it does not ALWAYS rain in Wales. I hope these 16 photos will be proof of that, as well as a way of showcasing the natural beauty of this unique little country.
From hiking through the Brecon Beacons, to chilling out on various beaches, to trampolining inside underground caves, there is a lot of fun to be had in Wales (whatever the weather). If you find yourself roaming through this charming country, my recommendations would be to:
- Picnic by the side of Pontsticill Reservoir
- Ramble through the Bodnant Gardens
- Walk the Four Waterfalls Trail near Ystradfellte
- Hike the Brecon Beacon mountain plains
- Trampoline inside caves near Porthmadog
I know I still have a lot to learn about Wales and I know there is a lot more to discover. Yet, I can assure you, embarking on the above activities will most definitely show you several incredible (and varied) sides to Wales.
So, sit back, grab a cup of tea and let me take you on a journey with these 16 photos that will most definitely inspire wanderlust for Wales…
Your turn now – where else should I see in Wales? Have you had the chance to ramble through this cool little country yet? If so, what did you do, what did you see?
